Tanimu Turaki, the National Chairman, Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians not to miss the opportunity to elect leaders that will build a Nigeria that works for all.
Turaki, a faction leader of PDP said that 2027 general elections offer Nigeria the opportunity to vote for security, economic opportunity, unity and justice.
He said that every independence anniversary reminded Nigerians of the sacrifices of their forebears made in pursuit of a country they envisaged as a place of prosperity, equality, equity and justice.
“Worthy of note is that when the moment for self-rule came, they rejected inducements and resisted threats designed to defeat their aim. They did not delay, and they did not miss their moment.
“As Nigeria turns 66, it is our turn to rise. Nigerians must rise in unison to shun inducement and stand firm against intimidation.
“Now, more than ever, we must be determined, at the earliest opportunity, to elect a government that will build a Nigeria that works for all, not just some: a nation of security, economic opportunity, unity and justice.
“ That responsibility now rests on us at the ballot box. This is our own time, and we must not let it pass,” Turaki said.
He wished Nigerians and Nigeria happy independence anniversary.
