Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has celebrated his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election as Governor of Osun.<\/p>\n
Adeleke, the incumbent governor and Accord Party candidate, was declared winner of the Aug. 15 Osun governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Davido celebrated the victory in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, writing: \u201cWE DID IT UNC !!!\u201d and tagging Adeleke\u2019s official X account.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He also shared a video alongside the message, showing him lying on the floor while celebrating the electoral victory with Nigerian flag emojis.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The singer had actively campaigned for Adeleke during the electioneering period and expressed support for his uncle through several social media posts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Adeleke, who first became governor after winning the 2022 Osun governorship election, secured a second term with his victory in the 2026 poll.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Adeleke won in 19 of Osun\u2019s 30 Local Government Areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 councils, according to the official results.<\/p>\n

The Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, declared Adeleke winner at about 7:24 a.m. on Sunday and returned him elected for another term.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
