Ademola Adeleke\u2019s victory in the just concluded governorship election as God\u2019s doing and manifestation of people\u2019s will.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Olajengbesi, who served as Accord Party agent during the collation of results at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Osogbo, said this while speaking with journalists on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis election has clearly shown that Adeleke is the man of the people. His victory at this election has also justified that he has performed excellently well for us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people of the state have shown him support and renewed his mandate, in spite of all the intimidation and harassment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He added that the result demonstrated confidence in him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr governor emerged victorious and we are glad and super happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He added that the victory had brought joy to party supporters and residents across the state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He equally said the love the people had for the governor was organic and that they expressed it by voting for him to continue in office for another term, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this election, Gov. Adeleke gave instructions to his foot soldiers not to buy a single vote,\u201d he said, stressing that the directive reflected confidence in voters and democracy itself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am surprised and happy that the people of Osun, without taking money, came out en mass and voted for him,\u201d he said, describing their decision as encouraging and remarkable indeed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He said the election had provided a great lesson to politicians, urging them not to see power as an instrument for expressing desperation but rather as an opportunity to serve people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He urged politicians to remain humble with power and regard it as an opportunity to serve our people effectively while prioritising public welfare over personal interests at all times for all.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that INEC announced Gov. Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the Osun governorship election held on Saturday, Aug. 15, after results were collated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, INEC Returning Officer for Osun, announced the results on Sunday, stating Adeleke polled 511,067 votes against Bola Oyebamiji of APC, who garnered 444,815 in final governorship tally released.(NAN)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Chieftain of the Accord Party in Osun, Mr Pelumi Olajengbesi, has described Gov.
