Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,906,390 registered voters in Osun collected this their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), ahead of the Saturday governorship election in the state.<\/p>\n
Mohammed Haruna, INEC National Commissioner, and Chairman, Information and Voter Education, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja said that the figure represented 81.50 per cent of the total of 2,339,233 total registered voters in the state.<\/p>\n

Haruna also noted that the remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, had been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in line with the Commission\u2019s established practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cSimilarly, it should be noted that some persons with damaged, defaced, or lost PVCs applied for replacement of their cards. A total of 6,101 among those who applied printed downloadable copies of their PVCs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Haruna also disclosed that a table of of the PVCs collected, Polling Unit by Polling Unit (PU), had been published on the commission\u2019s website.<\/p>\n
