Nigeria\u2019s Super Falcons defeated Tanzania 2-1 in\u00a0an international friendly on Thursday, rounding off their preparations for the 2026 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco on a winning note.<\/p>\n
Captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, gave the 10-time African champions the lead in the first half, but Tanzania responded before the break to restore parity.<\/p>\n
With the match seemingly headed for a draw, Esther Okoronkwo struck late in the game to hand Nigeria a deserved 2-1 victory in their final test before the continental championship.<\/p>\n
The friendly provided Head Coach, Justin Madugu, another opportunity to assess his squad, fine-tune tactics and build cohesion ahead of Nigeria\u2019s opening match at the tournament.<\/p>\n
The victory will boost the confidence of the Super Falcons as they pursue a record 11th WAFCON title.<\/p>\n
