The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has moved past the period of uncertainty over persistent litigation, the Chairman of the party\u2019s Board of Trustees, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa has said.<\/p>\n

Ohuabunwa in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja said: \u201cthe party is now rebuilding and will come out stronger and better.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Federal High Court judgment delivered on Friday,should be enough for those who are yet to accept the reality of a new PDP to beat a retreat\u201d.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ohuabunwa, while hailing the Federal High Court judgment, said that the ruling was in line with earlier judgment of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said, as the conscience and the moral compass of the party, the BOT fully respects and accepts the Federal High Court judgment and would continue to respect the rule of law.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cAny other person parading himself as the chairman of the PDP BoT as criminal impersonator that would be made to face the full wrath of the law soon,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ohuabunwa urged party leaders to embrace reconciliation and collective responsibility, stressing that the PDP must remain focused on strengthening its internal structures so as to emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n

He assured that necessary steps will be taken to further strengthen the Party\u2019s unity, stability, and preparedness for upcoming electoral engagements.<\/p>\n

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on July 17, the Federal High Court in Abuja struck out a lawsuit aimed at compelling INEC to recognise the Kabiru Turaki-led interim NWC of the PDP.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Justice Salim Ibrahim ruled that the plaintiffs, led by Adolphus Wabara, lacked the locus standi to bring the case, noting it was an internal party matter.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Consequently, the court awarded N140 million in costs against the plaintiffs and N10 million against their counsel for a frivolous suit.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Turaki-led faction has indicated they will appeal the ruling.<\/p>\n
