The Federal Government and the Government of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire have agreed to review existing bilateral agreements, assess their implementation and explore new areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The two countries also pledged to strengthen collaboration across bilateral and multilateral platforms for the mutual benefit of their citizens.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Nigeria\u2019s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by the ministry\u2019s spokesman, Kimiebi Ebienfa.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The statement followed a bilateral meeting between Enikanolaiye and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and the Diaspora, Nial\u00e9 Kaba, on the sidelines of the ongoing ECOWAS Mid-Year Summit in Freetown, Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the meeting focused on promoting regional prosperity, stability and integration.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Enikanolaiye appreciated Kaba for honouring his request for the meeting and commended the cordial bilateral relations between both countries.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He stressed the need for closer consultation and collaboration between Nigeria and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire as key regional partners.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The minister also reaffirmed Nigeria\u2019s commitment to strengthening bilateral engagements across West Africa to deepen regional cooperation.<\/p>\n

Kaba congratulated Enikanolaiye on his appointment and endorsed the call for stronger collaboration between the two countries.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to her, the stability of the West African region depends largely on strong relations between Nigeria and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She also congratulated Nigeria\u2019s Ms Ahunna Eziakonwa on her recent appointment as an Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations.<\/p>\n
