Senior Magistrate Evelyn Dara of a Dutse Magistrates\u2019 Court on Thursday ordered an unemployed man, Usman Mohammed to sweep the court premises for one day for stealing a cellphone.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Dara, gave the order following a guilty plea entered by Mohammed after his arraignment by the police.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The senior magistrate held that she gave Mohammed a non-custodial sentence because he admitted to the charge.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Otobha Okpa informed the court that Mr Abdulrahman Mohammed reported the matter at the Tungamaje Divisional Police Headquarters,Abuja.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Okpa said that on July 1, Mohammed broke into the complainant\u2019s parked truck and stole his Samsung Mobile phone worth N 250,000.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said that during Police investigation and interrogation, Mohammed could not give a satisfactory account of his actions.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
