Mr Austin Ayemidejor, Special Adviser to Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta on Transport and Aviation, says the government\u2019s policies have accelerated economic development, and placed the state on path of sustainable growth.<\/p>\n
Ayemidejor said this in a statement on Wednesday in Asaba.<\/p>\n
He said that Delta\u2019s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) rose from about N84 billion in 2023 to over N200 billion within less than four years.<\/p>\n
He described the remarkable increase as evidence that the administration\u2019s \u2018M.O.R.E Agenda\u2019 is delivering measurable results through deliberate reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and reducing dependence on oil earnings.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201dThe achievements recorded by Oborevwori within this short period have shown that purposeful leadership delivers results.<\/p>\n
\u201dIn less than four years, Delta has witnessed unprecedented economic growth, with its IGR rising from about N84 billion to over N200 billion without imposing additional tax burdens on the people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a clear demonstration that the governor is expanding economic opportunities, strengthening institutions and creating a more sustainable future for the state.<\/p>\n

\u201dThe figures speak for themselves and confirm that Delta is moving in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to him, improved revenue administration, wider tax compliance, agricultural investments, industrial expansion, infrastructure development and innovation have positioned Delta among Nigeria\u2019s leading states, pursuing economic diversification and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n
Ayemidejor noted that the administration achieved higher revenue by expanding the tax net and improving collection efficiency instead of increasing personal income taxes, describing the approach as responsible and people-centred.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted strategic investments in agriculture through Public-Private Partnerships, the Kwale Industrial Park, and renewed efforts to revive activities at the Warri and Forcados ports to attract investors.<\/p>\n
The governor\u2019s aide commended the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission for recognising the state\u2019s progress in economic diversification, saying the endorsement validated the administration\u2019s policies and ongoing development initiatives.<\/p>\n
Expressing optimism, Ayemidejor said the achievements recorded so far represented only the beginning.<\/p>\n
He added that continued reforms would strengthen the state\u2019s economy, create more jobs and expand investment opportunities.<\/p>\n
