Tanimu Turaki, the National Chairman, Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians not to miss the opportunity to elect leaders that will build a Nigeria that works for all.<\/p>\n
Turaki, a faction leader of PDP said that 2027 general elections offer Nigeria the opportunity to vote for security, economic opportunity, unity and justice.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He said that every independence anniversary reminded Nigerians of the sacrifices of their forebears made in pursuit of a country they envisaged as a place of prosperity, equality, equity and justice.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cWorthy of note is that when the moment for self-rule came, they rejected inducements and resisted threats designed to defeat their aim. They did not delay, and they did not miss their moment.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Nigeria turns 66, it is our turn to rise. Nigerians must rise in unison to shun inducement and stand firm against intimidation.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, more than ever, we must be determined, at the earliest opportunity, to elect a government that will build a Nigeria that works for all, not just some: a nation of security, economic opportunity, unity and justice.<\/p>\n
\u201c That responsibility now rests on us at the ballot box. This is our own time, and we must not let it pass,\u201d Turaki said.<\/p>\n
He wished Nigerians and Nigeria happy independence anniversary.<\/p>\n
