Chief Solomon Akwashiki, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Obi\/Lafia Federal Constituency, has urged Nigerians to distance themselves from politics of religion or ethnicity for good governance to thrive.<\/p>\n

Akwashiki, currently a member representing Lafia Central State Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, made the call on Tuesday while hosting his mobilisation group, in Lafia.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group the is tagged: Solomon Akwashiki Mobilisation Network for House of Representatives.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The lawmaker urged Nigerians to vote for leaders with capacity, ability and competence to deliver for the people.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Akwashiki, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts at the state assembly, emphasised the need for people to vote for leaders based on personal capacity to deliver, not on ethnic and religious considerations.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI have done well in the areas of job creation, health, education, empowerment, agriculture and scholarship, among others.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to assure you that I will bring the much-needed dividends of democracy to Obi\/Lafia Federal Constituency if elected to the Green Chamber in 2027,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He appreciated the group for its support and mobilisation for his House of Representatives ambition and assured of his commitment to serve the people diligently.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The lawmaker called on youths to be law-abiding and remain focused, and not to allow any politician to deceive them.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Earlier, the leader of the network, Mr Surajo Dahir, said the visit was to identify with the lawmaker and brief him on their activities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cThese activities involve mobilisation of youths and women, among others, across Lafia and Obi Local Government Areas for your House of Representatives aspiration in 2027,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He assured the lawmaker that they would move from door-to-door to canvass support for him to succeed in 2027.<\/p>\n
