Troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA have raided a suspected terrorists\u2019 hideout where they neutralised a suspected terrorist and recovered weapon and motorcycle in Gudu Local Government Area.<\/p>\n
This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesman of the 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, on Sunday in Sokoto.<\/p>\n
Osoba said the troops acted on credible intelligence and advanced toward a suspected terrorists\u2019 camp in the vicinity of Karani village.<\/p>\n
According to him, upon making contact with the hostile elements, the troops responded with decisive firepower, neutralising one terrorist while others fled to the nearby bushes.<\/p>\n
He said an exploratory search of the camp led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with ammunition.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe troops recovered items which include one AK-47 rifle loaded with live ammunition, one operational motorcycle, military camouflage uniforms and various maintenance tools and logistical supplies.<\/p>\n
\u201cTroops executed clearance operations in the surrounding forest axis to dominate the general area and deny fleeing elements freedom of action,\u201d Osoba said.(NAN)<\/p>\n
